Humbling Myself

I had terrible days, I lose a lot of my bankroll with constant donk plays. My account is now at $208. I realized that I must humble myself and accept that I am not playing well, and I didn't put my best efforts to learn poker theory correctly.

From now on, I will study harder, reviewing videos, reading forums, reading books and sharing my doubts with experienced players. I need to identify and minimize my leaks that are a lot.

Yesterday, I bought HoldEm Manager and I configured it in a not new, but better computer. The old one was very slow and get me tilt a lot of times. Also, I will buy a 24" monitor this weekend to get a better view of the tables.

Not Good Week

This week was terrible, I had ups and downs, but Thursday was a very bad day, I went into some coolers, losing almost all. And, I got tilted losing some big pots, finishing -$90, that hurts. This morning I thought I'll start over again, trying to keep playing basic poker, and dedicate more time to reading and viewing videos of poker, than playing poker.

I read a forum from deucescracked about ¿What type of sessions do you play?, and I will share with you the best answer...imo, "As soon as you think, in any way, shape or form, \"I should quit.\" You HAVE quit! You are not thinking of playing good poker anymore you are thinking of not playing. So play up to your BB and get out." From now on I will stay with this...

Poor results this past weekend!!!

This past weekend I wasn't successful at the tables, after a good week where I got over $500, I went back to downtrend, losing about $60 dollars, with many donk plays. Although, I had a positive attitude and expecting to finish this next week with a $10 rakeback, plus I will take the next $20 release of the Matching Bonus. But, I need to recover an additional $30 to getback to $500. At $10NL the rake is very high, and my friends don't recommended me that level . I still think that no matter the high rake charge, if I put a lot of work to improve my skills, its possible to get to the next level, playing 10NL combined with SNG's. Reaching the $1200 playing $10NL and tourneys, I am sure that I will dominate $25NL. Although, I will try to make with my friends some sweat sessions in $25NL to see if I could accelerate a little bit my way to the next level. Also I will start playing more SNG's, where I already got good results and this could help me getback some money without risking too much. I had read the free online course at SitNGoTraining.com website, learning interesting strategies and recommendations that I found very good for SNG tournaments.

This week also I installed HoldemManager(HM), an application that analyzes my game and the data obtained in the tables I played. I use HM data to profile the players, in that way I could make easier desicions with difficult hands when playing. I am identifying players with high or low VP$IP. My friends recommend me, to take time to see poker strategies videos. I'm going to take more time in the next weeks to see more videos and then return to the tables, to try to finish positive in my sessions. Until yesterday I was -$7 for the month.

I understand that I improved a lot my game since I started to play, but if I relate my poker game with tennis skills rankings, I considered myself as a 2.5 player (beginner, with few experience). Speaking of tennis, I started this Sunday to play with the mixed league team. I met the majority of the team members and we played 4 sets, I lost 3 and won just one. This results reflected that I was out of shape after arriving from exercise-banned vacations, hehehe. Ohhh the cruise, here I put some pics of my cruise vacations...

The beginning of a long road

I began a new adventure in my life, which is fun and challenging at the same time, MAKE MONEY PLAYING POKER ONLINE. Maybe sounds a little crazy, because many people think that casino games are all luck, and you could lose a lot of money. A friend of mine was the first person that talked me about Texas hold em, a popular one among a lot of different poker games. He told me that with a proper way of playing, a lot of study, and following the best practices a person could build a real money bankroll playing poker online. Well, I took his advice and began to play on November 2007. I loss $50 playing in pokerstars, in that moment I realized that it was more difficult than I first thought. So I stopped playing.

Three months ago, after seeing the success my friend had, I decided to open an account at FullTilt, were I put $500. In the first two months I loss money, my account got under $350, result of my lack of skills. After that, I took a few days away from the game and began to read a bit and watched some videos. Then I started playing more and took advices from my friend, who practically has became my coach. Yesterday the hard work paid, because my loss was recovered and today my account reach $ 517.

Also last weekend I was cruising in the Adventure of the Seas and visited the casino. There was a Texas Hold'em tournament in which I enrolled to play. Anyone who came first and second in that tournament entered the final table, which would be play the day before the end of the cruise. This table was made up of the first two places of five qualifying tournaments. I won one of them and reached the final table, where I got to achieve HeadUp (final two persons left on the table). There I went all in with AKs versus A7o and the flop (first 3 cards shown at the table) showed a 7, improving my opponent hand, so I loss my pot, finishing second. Second place prize was $300, so I was very happy, and now I am very motivated and serious on taking my online game to the next level.
